We had our last fill of pumpkin pancakes at the Hasner home before saying goodbyes. We strolled our in the morning and headed towards West Virginia.
BUT before we got to our good friends Jay and Kait’s home, we stopped on over to a Williamstown, Kentucky to visit the Ark Encounter. This place was amazing! It is a full scale model of Noah’s Ark and one of the biggest timber standing structures in the world. The ark is 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. Even rushing through the ark, it took us 2 hours to just skim the surface and information. There were many amazing details that I didn’t even think about when I have read about Noah. If you ever have time, I encourage you to go. It is one amazing structure and fun fact: Imani Collective has our animal pillows in their shop!
Once we finished exploring we hopped in the car and headed to West Virginia! We got to see Jay, Kait and their two kiddos Senali and Micah. We also got to meet Jay’s parents, which was a treat because his dad was born in Mombasa! Just talking about the mombasa streets and speaking some quick Swahili made me miss home.
Luckily I know we will be home soon and I am excited to see everyone there as well!
One thing special about our visit is we got to hear an update on their adoption process. Kait will be leaving in a week to head to China and bring home their little girl. I am so excited to know one day we will be able to meet her and also to see the next chapter unfold in their lives. Both of you have big hearts and we are honored to call you both friends.
Glad we got to share a meal together and collect as many hugs as possible!
