When I first moved to Kenya, I learned something essential. Food is not merely a source to fuel your body, but it is a way of community. I learned to not refuse a cup of chai or an impromptu meal. I learned to savor the moments and not to be so worried about the “to do’s” for the day, but to truly be immersed in the moment of life. Living in Kenya has taught me to be present and take a hold of the ever-fleeting time that makes up a day.
As we have been traveling through Montana, it has been quick and nearly not long enough, but I have been challenged once more to take the moments I have in front of me and be completely present. We have been able to spend some precious time with great friends and family. I have been extremely blessed and refueled by this time with my family on the road and although it can be crazy at times, I would not trade this time for anything else.
Thank you to everyone who has and will hold baby Sophie along the way and thank you for putting a roof over our heads, the meals and the love you continue to give my family. We appreciate you!
