MINNESOTA HERE WE COME!
It took us one day longer to get here than expected, but we got a late start after the long weekend we had and decided that sleeping in and not rushing the kiddos was the best idea.
It is funny how the expectations to get to a certain destination at a certain time just completely change when kids are involved. We decided to cut the trip in half since it would have been a about 15 hours. Once we got a good night rest and filled our bellies in the morning then we headed off to the Baertschi’s home. I feel like a broken record saying this, but we wish we had more time. We are thankful for the time that was given to us and just being able to relax together.
Another odd thing that happens when we go to Kenya and then come back to get on the road and visit is that time has passed and people get older. This is really evident in the kids. Four years ago, Livi and Weston were tiny little people and now they are like almost teenagers. WHAAT. I feel old.
Minnesota was exactly what we needed. A time of rest before continuing on to the East.
I also thoroughly enjoy how much I laugh in this home and how much I feel loved. Sophie and Jadon have some pretty cool extended family. Jadon played choo choos and balls pretty much the whole time as he froze his hands off outside and Sophie kicked and rolled until her heart was content. Thank you, Baertschi’s for all of your love.
We also got some quick visits with Lacy, Mark and Andrew.
Thank you to everyone who traveled to give us a few hugs. Means the world!
