We made it to Madison, Wisconsin! And the kiddos finally got to meet their grandpa. We spent most of our first day in the zoo and dodging the rain, but had precious moments with family and the polar bears. Then in the evening we retreated to Denise’s home, who has been around since Sean was little.
We then spent Saturday in Wisconsin Dells, which was a highlight especially when we went to Buffalo Phils and our food was delivered to us by train! The train or “choo choo” as Jadon calls it also came around and blew bubbles for everyone to enjoy. Even before we got to lunch we rode an actual small steam engine to a small pumpkin patch where Jadon got to pick his first pumpkin! We have fully embraced the pumpkin/fall season!
After our pumpkin patch experience and delicious lunch, we went bowling! Sophie and I were a team (literally) since she was wrapped to me. I still scored a 128 while holding a baby and let it be known that I tied for second with grandpa Tony. It is now on written record, so we will never forget the day! We drove back to Madison full of food and sweet memories.
What I have learned so far in our travels is that it is not about necessarily what we do, it is who it is spent with. Loving every moment of our road trip across the nation because it is reminding me of how grateful I am for each one of you in my life. I am truly blessed by all of you.
