We woke up this morning quite tired. In fact, we had planned to get a good amount of sleep to start with renewed strength and energy, but Sophie and Jadon had other plans.
It is funny when kiddos just know something is up and then BOOM. Plans change.
So again, we woke up tired, but in great spirits!
We loaded up the car, just to get down the road and realize we had not even fed Jadon. We win best parents award!
We had to quickly fix this as any parent knows having a hungry kid is just not a great time. We grabbed some fruit and a breakfast sandwich just to get down the road and have our little boy choking on his breakfast and throwing up all over himself.
For all of you with your mouth wide open right now. Jadon is completely alright… he is just in this stage where he likes to challenge himself on how big of things he can swallow before actually chewing. I am constantly telling that boy to chew chew chew.
After that episode was over and clothes were changed. We were off!
Or so we thought. We were extremely tired, so about 30 minutes later we decided to stop at a rest stop and nap. Yes, we napped about an hour into the trip.
But all in all. WE DID IT!
We conquered our longest leg of the trip and made it to Denver, Colorado.
We had an 18-hour travel day and are still loving each other. Let us throw high fives all around.
Let us not forget about miss Sophie. She is a born traveler.
She would eat when we stopped and kick around and then not a peep in the car.
We are some lucky parents to have a five-week-old who loves the road.
I want to welcome all of you to Safari Chronicles.
Let us adventure together.
