We woke up bright and early to head down to St. Louis.
As we drove up to the house we were beyond excited to see this family.
Mark, MJ, Janie, Josiah and James. This family is close to our hearts and we truly miss their presence in Kenya. We quickly were greeted with big hugs and dinner waiting for us. On the menu was chicken tikka and it reminded me of home. I can still remember my first chicken tikka was with our friend Carol (who we saw in Portland!) at Hashmi’s barbecue in Mombasa. It was delicious and Mark, it was as if I was there, so thank you!
Our days were filled with storytelling, picnics and trying all the things of St. Louis. One night we enjoyed thin crust pizza and the next night we got to try some amazing custard. Sean also got to go out with the boys for a night out to see the St. Louis Blues play and while that happened, Janie and I went out for some pampering of nails. MJ spent her time playing trucks and reading books with Jadon while entertaining sweet Sophie too.
Thanks MJ for loving on our babies and thank you Mark, Josiah, Janie and James for reading brown bear brown bear to him over and over again!
I miss St. Louis, just like I miss Kenya. It is the people that make a place worth missing just like it is the people that make a house a home. Miss you guys already SO MUCH and can't wait until we see you next.
