We rolled into Indianapolis to the Hasner Homestead mid afternoon and immediately felt like we were at home. We were welcomed with excitement and lots of little helpers. Jadon was lost in the kids rooms within seconds and Sophie greeted everyone with smiles.
Jim and Laurel have a beautiful family and we finally got to meet each one of them and their amazing personalities.
Abram wants to be an entomologist or botanist or lepidopterist, which is the study of moths and butterflies. He is creative, smart and many of his knowledge went way over my head. It was exciting to watch him light up when he told you about his various types of butterflies. I can’t wait to see where his future leads. Remember, you can always come check out butterflies in Kenya!
Ellie is an all around cool girl with many talents. She is creative and made me several beautiful pieces of jewelry that I now wear consistently. She could train some of my artisans, she is that good. She also is extremely athletic. Sean and some of the kids played a soccer game while we were there and sean noticed her natural athletic ability. And! She makes one killer latte. She is 11 and already a pretty great barista.
Ezra is grounded. He knows his priorities and what he finds to be important. He also is curious and knows how to ask great questions, from “what is your favorite movie” to “how does God use your weaknesses to do His work”. This was question 3 and 4. He quickly gets to the point, but made sure he gave us some ice breaker questions right before, eased us in to the harder, thought provoking ones. He also gave us a portion of his tithe when we were visiting. The sweetest gift and we were extremely blessed.
Judah is fun and loves to give his older brother, Ezra a run for his money. They daily challenge one another for the good, but it was very funny to watch. He also is a pretty good math whiz. He taught Sean a couple of things in his math computer program.
Ivy is outgoing and has a big heart. She loves deep and always wants to help. She loved to be with Sophie and just wanted to give her kisses all day. She is five now and ready to change the world!
Selah. Sweet Selah. This girl has one contagious laugh and the cutest smile. She also has a cool sweater she debuted while we were there. She was also a great little helper and loved laying with Sophie and giving her hugs. She does need her naps though, just like Jadon...
This family is one of a kind and was so hard to leave and say goodbye to. We enjoyed laughter, good food, impromptu soccer games, and the happy camper life for a couple of days.
We also got our fill of pumpkin. It was like pumpkin heaven in their home.
Pumpkin spice creamer
Pumpkin heaven ️
Until next time.
